THE PANAMA DISCOVER COLLECTION

A little planning. A better trip.

Practical decisions that help your Panama trip come together.

Start with the shape of your trip

Choose a region.
Then connect the days.

Panama is a narrow country with two very different coasts. A short line on a map can involve a road journey, an airport change or a boat. Choose the place where you want to spend time before adding another overnight stop.

RegionWhat brings you hereA useful planning decision
Panama City & the CanalHistoric neighborhoods, museums and the locksCompare Miraflores and Agua Clara before buying a Canal outing.
Chiriquí highlandsBoquete, Tierras Altas, coffee and mountain sceneryChoose a base and leave a full day between transfer days. Start with Boquete.
Bocas del ToroCaribbean island communities and coastal natureChoose the island before the room; onward boat needs matter.
Coclé & the central Pacific coastEl Valle’s mountain setting or a coast-based stayA night in El Valle changes the time available for the town and trails.
Azuero & Pacific VeraguasLos Santos and Herrera’s culture; surf coasts and protected marine areasInvestigate the exact base and transfers; a beach name does not describe the whole peninsula.
Colón & the Caribbean coastPortobelo’s heritage, Congo culture and coastal islandsSeparate mainland visits from boat outings and check each return connection.

Give a short trip fewer moving parts

For a week, our city and valley route trades frequent transfers for time in two bases. With ten days, compare a wider route through the highlands and islands. These are planning recommendations, not protected connections or booked packages.

Community visits need a different approach

Guna Yala and other Indigenous territories are living communities with their own decision makers. A tourism listing does not establish permission to enter a particular community or island. Confirm arrangements with the relevant community and an appropriate operator. Ask for current entry conditions, the agreed pickup point and return arrangements before booking. Remote Darién travel also needs current specialist information; this page is not an access guide.
